Cleanroom garments play a critical role in cleanroom contamination control; they are designed to contain contamination generated by the greatest source of contamination in a cleanroom – the people.
Fundamentally, Annex 1 states that no outdoor clothing (other than personal underwear) should be brought into changing rooms leading directly to Grade B and Grade C cleanrooms.
As a result, cleanrooms appropriate garments that are dedicated for use under cleanroom outer garments must be worn to prevent contamination. Cleanroom undergarments are usually a two-piece set of tunic and trousers that have a loose, comfortable-fitting style alongside dedicated cleanroom socks.
